4. Failure of Election; Call for Special Election
Vacancy timetable:
- 0 days – Both the offices of President and Vice-President become vacant
- 3 days – Congress convenes
- 10 days – Law providing for special elections should be enacted
- Not earlier than 45 days and not later than 60 days from the call for the special election – Elections should be held within this period
- Not later than 30 days after election day – The President of the Senate shall open the certificates of canvass in the presence of the Senate and the House in joint public session, and Congress shall canvass the votes
