iv. Suspension of Business Operation

Preventive Suspension of Business Operations under Republic Act No. 11592

Under Republic Act No. 11592, the Department of Energy (DOE) is authorized to suspend the operations of the business of a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) industry participant who is the subject of an administrative proceeding1. This administrative measure may be imposed during the pendency of the proceeding and without prejudice to other available administrative remedies1.

The suspension of business operations may be ordered for a maximum period of forty-five (45) calendar days1. The statutory objective of this preventive suspension is to prevent undue interference in the ongoing investigation and the tampering of evidence, in accordance with the implementing rules and regulations of the Act1.
